Book Holidays to Fuerteventura This Christmas
The island of Fuerteventura has its own Christmas traditions, and it can be refreshing to experience something outside what you're used to. Christmas here starts on 8 December, with the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. This national festival means shops will be closed but you will likely have the opportunity to attend traditional gatherings. The weather will also be rather lovely, which makes a change for Christmas!
Fuerteventura family holidays at Christmas will certainly enable you to make the most of the island's beautifully rugged scenery and pristine beaches, as although the weather won't quite tempt you into your swimwear; it's certainly fair enough for a paddle, a hike or a trip into the mountains.
If you want to take part in some of the religious celebrations in Fuerteventura, then stick around for Las Tres Reyes (which translates as The Three Kings). Following the story of the 3 Wise Men bringing baby Jesus precious gifts, the celebrations include parades all around the villages of Fuerteventura. There will be much eating and celebrating, so it will be a fun event to be on the island for.
At the end of the day, you want to have special memories at Christmas, and family holidays to Fuerteventura can provide just that. It's only one Christmas, and you can always see your family for the Christmases after. Or, bring them along next time and have a whole family affair somewhere new, and exciting, where you can create your own memories.
